HOW IT WORKS
Step 1 - Take the Travel Sisters Survey
We start by having you select an imaginary “travel sister circle” composed of iconic women.
There are ten iconic travel sister groups. Our rationale is that women who want to travel with the same icons may be well suited to travel with each other in terms of interests and priorities. If you have a group of women you know are well-suited to travel together, be sure you pick the same iconic group.
This first selection might be the hardest part if you are a multifaceted, multi-tasking woman! Remember the standard: pick who you want to TRAVEL with (not the person you would want to work with, you most admire, etc.) The beauty of travel is you can break out of the everyday and cultivate aspects of your personality and interests that might get pushed to the background in a typical week!
Next we have you answer some questions about budget, travel preferences, and lifestyle habits.
At the end of that series of questions, you will be assigned a code and sorted into a group of like-minded women who would be suitable “travel sisters.”
Step 2. Interact on digital platforms, attend live events on Zoom and in person local events
We get together on Zoom one Thursday a month @ 7pm to meet each other, consider trip offerings, and get organized! The link is shared via email to all registered Travel Sisters and on our MeetUp group (named "RDU Women With Travel Dreams").
We get together for in person events about once a month, usually on Saturday mornings. See the "Events" tab above.
Step 3 - We make trips happen
We propose out-of-state and international "Big Trips" through our newsletter. We also propose "grassroots" trips (proposed by Travel Sisters) in our emails.
Travel Sisters attend to our communications and/or attend monthly online and in person events to find out more about those trips.
A date for enrollment on a particular trip will be announced. After that date, we pay a $25 (nonrefundable) enrollment fee, form a trip email group, get final pricing, fill out forms, and then make deposit or decide to forego the trip. If you need a roommate we assist you in that effort by analyzing codes and generally playing matchmaker to insure compatibility.
So, in summary we:
1. Attend to newsletters and emails
2. Meet online and/or in person to discuss
3. Pick trips
4. Enroll ($25), get final quotes, hear all details, decide, make deposits
5. Get together and GO!
